	Nationally: The NAACP was founded in New York City in 1909 by an interracial group of prominent citizens who concerted efforts against the barbaric crime of lynching. 	The Bethlehem NAACP held its 1st Annual Local ACTSO Competition, April 21 and 22, 2009 at Liberty HS in Bethlehem, PA. Twenty-two students competed in 9 of the 26 categories with three students winning the Gold, two students, Silver, and one Bronze. JFGoodwin Scholarship Fund

The J. F. Goodwin Scholarship Club was founded in 1936 by Dr. J. F. Goodwin, a young  black physician who saw a great need for educational support in the black community of Bethlehem. Along with practicing medicine, he preached a gospel of education beyond high school to equip young people, to meet the challenges of life.

2009 Freedom High School Graduate
Kezia will be attending the University of Pittsburgh majoring in Biology with the
ultimate goal of becoming an OB/GYN.
She was also nominated to attend the National Student Leadership conference in Washington, DC for healthcare.
